About Me

LaKesha Rogers born and raised in Jacksonville, FL is the great-great granddaughter of A. Quinn Jones, professor and educator. LaKesha studied dance, drama/theatre, and modeling since the age of 5. She is trained in jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, and ballet. She participated in her first fashion show at age 9 for Jacobson's Mall, and began to do local fashion/talent shows in the area. At the age of 14 LaKesha began competing in local pageants, winning her first title. Next she competed in the Miss Parade Stars pageant in St. Augustine where she won the regional title, that allowed her to compete for the national title in Orlando, FL, where she placed 1st runner-up and most photogenic. Pageants became a vehicle for the next phase of her life, theater. LaKesha studied under the esteemed New York actor and director, Noble Lee Lester, and performed in several local shows before moving to Los Angeles, CA.

While in Los Angeles, CA, LaKesha worked on several top t.v. shows such as 'Still Standing' (CBS), 'ER' (NBC), 'CSI' (CBS), and 'American Dreams' (NBC). And worked as a model with IMS Management in Beverly Hills, CA.

LaKesha's greatest love was working with local youth in low income communities and teaching them the arts through after school programs such as KYDS, as an event coordinator/teacher. She also dedicated her free time to teaching and ministering the gift of dance and drama to the youth of her local church as the creative director. Realizing that her true passion was to teach and share her love for the arts, in 2007 LaKesha moved to Orlando, FL with the desire to start a non-profit performing arts center that would allow kids from various backgrounds and income homes have the opportunity to learn and pursue their passion for the arts as well.

In 2010 LaKesha graduated with a Bachelors in Business Management, and is now working on completing her Masters in Entertainment Business. Currently she is an active member of her church Love Gospel Worship Center, where she serves as a teacher, and serves with the Teen/Young Adult Ministry and the Dance/Drama ministry. In her free time she also volunteers in her local community and participates in community outreaches. In 2011 LaKesha, along with her church's youth group, was able to go on her first, of many, missions trips to Guatemala.

In the next year, LaKesha's goal is to open up her non-profit performing arts center that will create a culutural impact on the city of Orlando through arts and education.

Her motto is "Your environment does not alter you, You alter your environment" - LaKesha Rogers
